May Day
So yesterday was the annual May Day party thrown by one of my neighbors. The couple that throws it started it some 18 years ago when they got married, and now they throw it every year for their Anniversary. Leave it up to liberals to celebrate a thoroughly Communist holiday.
It is always a great party with great people, great food, and great booze. Every year, the host plays the bagpipes while the children dance around the Maypole. This year, there was one more bagpipe player who was actually a world-renowned Jazz bagpipe player, probably because he is the only one. Supposedly, he knew John Coltrane. I will tell you, if you haven’t seen Rufus Harley play the pipes, then well, you haven’t seen Shakespeare the way it is supposed to be performed my friend.
It is always a great party because the people are great. There is something cool about being around people from your community who knew you when you were a little ankle biter. And now, you’re a man, drinking with them and having adult conversations with them. Sometimes it feels great to grow up.
